It is important to note that these conditions are not always representative of real-world operating conditions, and that&#8217;s why other ratings are also important.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ptc-rating\"><strong>PTC Rating<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The Peak\/STC is too ideal to be applicable in the real world. Here is the equation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>CEC-AC rating = PTC\/DC rating x number of panels x DC to AC inverter efficiency<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"things-to-know-about-cecac-rating\"><strong>Things to know about CEC-AC rating<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<ul><li>Solar panels produce DC (direct current) electricity, incompatible with the AC (alternating current) electricity that powers our homes and businesses. Therefore, we need<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Power_inverter#:~:text=A%20power%20inverter%2C%20inverter%20or,on%20the%20particular%20device%20employed.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> inverters to convert DC to AC<\/a>. That&#8217;s why it is essential to consider the DC to AC smart inverter efficiency when calculating the CEC-AC rating.<\/li><li>We are getting closer to the real production value with the CEC-AC rating.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ac-system-rating\"><strong>AC System Rating<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The AC system rating is another way of measuring the panel&#8217;s performance.
