The Altair <a href=\"https:\/\/ledask.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LED<\/a> flush mounts to use a set of integrated LED chips that deliver up to 1400 lumens and will last you up to 5 years.&#xA0;&#xA0;&#xA0;&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have previously covered how you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellpcb.com\/led-lamp-kit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">build your own LED light kit<\/a>. Nevertheless, If you are unwilling to commit to a long DIY project, you can purchase a ready-made lamp from Altair. This guide will explore their outdoor offerings and show you how to install a light.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"altair-lighting-outdoor-lighting\">Altair Lighting Outdoor Lighting<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Again, Altair specializes in two main options: flush mount <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Light_fixture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">light fixtures<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lantern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">lanterns<\/a>. One of their more popular options is the AL-2161. You can consider it to be the pinnacle of Altair LED lighting. However, For the rest of this guide, we will focus on their outdoor lanterns.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, it is one of their most miniature lanterns. It has an excellent modern glassy finish that mixes vintage with modernity. Additionally, it is easy to install, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/buildings\/building_recognition\/building_certification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Energy Star certification<\/a>, and features a replaceable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellpcb.com\/led-driver.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">LED driver<\/a>. Despite its discontinuation, you may be able to find it from a few dispatchers and shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can try their AL-2167 lantern. It is also quite effortless to install, has Energy Star certification, and features some of America&#8217;s best quality LED lighting. However, these are not the only outdoor options available to you. Regardless of which lantern you choose, they all have the exact basic installation instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the next section of the guide, we show you how to install an Altair lantern.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-install-altair-lighting-outdoor-energy-saving-led-lantern\">How to Install Altair Lighting Outdoor Energy Saving LED Lantern<\/h3>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"required-tools-and-equipment\"><em>Required Tools and Equipment<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<ul><li>Safety Goggles<\/li><li>Number 2 Phillips screwdriver<\/li><li>Pliers<\/li><li>Electrical tape<\/li><li>Wire cutters&nbsp;<\/li><li>Wire strippers<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that the lantern is compatible with the junction box.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wellpcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/1-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Required Tools and Equipment\" class=\"wp-image-54310\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-1\"><em>Step 1<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Make sure that the power on the wall switch is off. Furthermore, It&#x2019;s good practice to switch the power off at the circuit breaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove all the contents from the box and ensure all the necessary parts are there. The features accompanying the fixture and mounting package should be illustrated. Next, use the mounting screws to connect the mounting bracket to the outlet box.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-4\"><em>Step 4<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Place the fixture onto the mounting bracket securely, along with the lanyard hook.&#xA0;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-5\"><em>Step 5<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Pull each wire from the outlet box and start peeling the insulation. Try to strip as much as 10 mm\/0.39 inches from each wire.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, elevate the fixture to the wall and align the outlet box to the wall plate. Finally, connect the corresponding fixture wires to the supply wires (white to white, black to black, and ground to ground)<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-6\"><em>Step 6<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Detach the lanyard hook from the fixture. Once that&#x2019;s done, gather all the wires, connections, and the lanyard hook and tuck them into the outlet box.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-7\"><em>Step 7<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Fit the wall plate on the outlet box. You must ensure that the fixture screws go through the holes on the wall plate. Next, ensure that the screws protrude at least 8mm from the wall. Take the wall plate out and connect the fixture screws. Tighten the hex nuts on the mounting bracket.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-8\"><em>Step 8<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Carefully tuck all the wires and wire connectors into the outlet box. Next, place the wall plate back onto the fixture screws. Finally, set a washer over each fixture screw and secure the fixture using the locknuts.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-9\"><em>Step 9<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>When installing the fixture, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Caulk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">caulk<\/a> the upper two-thirds of the mounting surface to the wall plate. Leave the rest uncaulked. This will allow any water to drain out in the case of a leak. We recommend a waterproof exterior caulk such as silicone or rubber.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-10\"><em>Step 10<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wellpcb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/2-2-2.jpg\" alt=\"Altair Lighting LED\" class=\"wp-image-54313\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Restore power at the fuse box and switch the power on at the wall switch to test the fixture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"led-lantern-repair\">LED Lantern Repair<\/h3>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"altair-lighting-led-costco\"><em>Altair Lighting LED Costco<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Costco stocks Altair lighting lamps and fixtures.
